As pressure for fuel savings and emission reduction mounts, the need for lightweight aluminum components increases throughout the transportation industry.  An efficient place to begin vehicle weight reduction is to replace heavier steel wheels with lightweight forged aluminum wheels.

The Process


The Process Aluminum is heated to a super plastic state and pressed into the basic wheel shape on our 6000 ton forging press. This hot forming begins the strength building process.
The Process The Process The rim is then spin formed from the basic wheel. This additional "cold work forming" enhances the wheel's strength by aligning the aluminum's grain structure along the contour of the wheel.

The wheel is then finish machined to precise dimensions.  After machining, the wheel surface is either kept at our standard PCDiamond cut machined surface or polished on the inner, outer, or both surfaces. The Process
